atm Posted June 26, 2024 Report Posted June 26, 2024 The NBTHK Juyo origami for this wakizashi and koshirae is not something I’ve seen before. I’ve read about swords and koshirae being submitted for shinsa together and receiving origami for them as a pair, but I have not seen the origami they receive. Is this such an example? For reference, it is from this Aoi Art listing: Listing Quote
Ray Singer Posted June 26, 2024 Report Posted June 26, 2024 This appears to be a replacement juyo certificate, after the original was lost. 1 Quote
atm Posted June 26, 2024 Author Report Posted June 26, 2024 Thanks, Ray. What confuses me is that the koshirae and the nakago are both depicted. If it is a replacement, does that mean they were submitted together originally? Quote
mywei Posted June 26, 2024 Report Posted June 26, 2024 Yes it looks like they were submitted and passed together You can also see both listed together on the Juyo Zufu page 1 1 Quote
