PhoenixDude Posted June 23, 2024 Report Posted June 23, 2024 Was wondering if anyone has insight on this motif? I'm guessing it's buddah and a disciple with what looks like a jar? The artist is 2nd or third generation sekijokoen motozane I think. If anyone has the Haynes index for these guys it would be greatly appreciated. 1 Quote

ROKUJURO Posted June 23, 2024 Report Posted June 23, 2024 Difficult to see lying on the side, but I don't think BUDDHA is depicted. Might be a SENNIN? Quote
PhoenixDude Posted June 23, 2024 Author Report Posted June 23, 2024 Yeah when I upload it it turns it on its side. Whoever it is has a halo and a golden curl in his hair. Quote

Check out - I took the liberty of revolving the kozuka and enlarging it a little. Notice the headpiece on this tsuba. https://www.zacke.at...ters/?lot=38593&sd=1 Three Sake Tasters—Shaka (The historical Buddha), Koshi (Confucius), and Roshi (Laozi) May as well include a Kashira https://www.liveauct...a-confucius-lao-tze/ 4 1 1 Quote
