noneed2hate Posted June 11, 2024 Report Posted June 11, 2024 Picked this Mokume Tsuba up at an antique shop in Japan. I thought it was a particularly interesting Tsuba overall give the oddly shaped ana and samegawa inserts as well as the copper braiding on the sides. I believe the signature reads 明珍「_」宗晴 Myochin [?]Muneharu? Could not figure out the top left Kanji however if anyone could assist with that one. Any thoughts on the Tsuba overall? This is more or less my first serious approach to Tsuba 6 1 Quote
Steves87 Posted June 11, 2024 Report Posted June 11, 2024 I quite like that, congratulations! The flow of the grain is very nice, and I think it may also be the first time I have seen samegawa ategane too! 1 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted June 11, 2024 Report Posted June 11, 2024 The Myochin often signed with 紀 as in 明珍紀宗晴 Myochin Ki Muneharu in Hiroshima. 5 Quote

I quite like it. 1 1 Quote
