windsshi
I recently purchased a cut down nihonto by Mark of the Chicago Sword Show (excellent experience! He's a great guy.) The nihonto does have a signature, and I'd love to know anything you guys can gleam! This is my first time buying a (hopefully real) antique nihonto, and I hope I took the pictures correctly. I tried to search online for any information about this person, but alas, I guess we'll only know they were from the Shimada region!

(please sign all posts at least with your first name plus an initial so we can address you politely. It is a rule here). I really don't want to disappoint you, but it is not a real NIHONTO but just the remains of one. It was certainly antique, but the best part of it is missing, so we can't even tell if it was an authentically signed blade. Your next purchase in this field will hopefully be a nice complete blade!
