Please forgive my ignorance, but I am unsure what I have here.  I believe this to be a Partizan Pole Arm weapon.  Yes, i am holding it upside down. I beleive it to be a ceremonial piece not used for actual combat.  It is dulled on both sides of the blade.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated as I try to learn what period this would come from. If not Japanese, I apologize. Thank you in advance.

Perhaps Southeast Asian, like Vietnamese or Cambodian?

Mind showing us a picture of the tang area and the hole in the tang?

The soft-metal casting looks too crude to be Japanese. The whole thing looks like something done in the past century as a tourism piece. Might be loosely Japanese inspired? But I doubt its actually Japanese.

Thanks, I requested to join the group. Here are a couple examples of what I could find on the internet, just no information listed. When i go to the site, i cant find the weapon shown in the image.

Hi David, at first sight I'd say not Japanese, but in Museo d'arte Orientale in Venice is displayed, among Japanese polearms, a blade wich resembles yours. The museum collection is an historic private collection containing also some Javanese keris, so maybe the old curator messed the items a little bit. Anyway a Japanese origin cannot surely be ruled out.

I was hoping someone might follow up! Thanks for checking.

I might be reading too much into the design, however is the blade supposed to be the dragon's tongue?
