Hi

This dealer is Alf Tan. I bought a katana from him a couple of years back, wasn't exactly what I wanted, and he accepted the return, refunded the full amount, speedily and w/o any problems.

did you get what is same to they described from the web?

the 2 swords you linked are WWII navy swords, they seem in good condition but are not "new", they are genuine WWII era swords. Alf is knowlegable, if you ask questions before buying something you will get what he describes.

Alf Tan has been dealing swords a good while and to my knowledge is entirely fair. However, he sells a lot of WWII swords, so you have to understand what that means. The items are described accurately but it's up to the buyer to have a clear idea of what they want out of a sword.

Personally I would suggest that if you don't yet have the ability to judge the authenticity of this sort of work (or the differences between these and traditionally-made nihonto), you might want to save your money, spend more time reading and studying, and then make a decision. You may still be interested in these swords but at least then you'd know what you're getting and why.

The first Naval sword above is now in my collection. Alf is very pleasant too deal with and he is willing too dicker on the price if he has any room....Regards Jimmy
