Satsuma Translation Sought

Purchased a Satsuma cup and saucer today and can't seem to find these makers marks. I thought they were the same but uder magification I see they are different. Would this difference be normal on a cup and saucer set or are mine mismatched?

I believe the top mark (cross in a circle) is the Shimazu family crest. Dai Nippon on the right, Satsuma in the middle, not sure about the left side (style perhaps?).

On the top left is the kiln name Gingetsu, plus 造 (make).

The other is the same style but.... a different kiln name, Senshu, plus 造.

Of the two, the top Shimadzu crest is quite casually done. Otherwise they are so similar stylistically that they could easily be individual artisan or kiln master names.

The left hand column in second pic is a rather cursory rendition of Hododa……a well known mass maker of Satsuma wares.

I read somewhere that the Shimazu clan would permit some potters the honor of using the ”cross-in-a-circle” kamon. That would give the piece somewhat of a connection with the famous samurai clan. These ”licensed” pieces of pottery always carries the kamon in gosu blue, which is dark blue, green or black depending on the firing.

The red and gilded kamon became very common on several of the more prolific Satsuma pottery kilns output throughout Meiji. By that time it had little “official” significance beyond trying to influence the wealthy gaijin of the time into believing it was somehow “important”. Excellent early marketing.

I think Piers nailed it with Senshū 仙舟造. Same maker as the pot below
