The colour does not seem typical for SHIBUICHI. Looks more like SHAKUDO.

Hi jean, It's lighter and more silver in the hand than my pics show. Previous owner said it was shibuichi not shakudo.

Depending on the balance of metals used to make the alloy and the patination process used, shibuichi can be almost black.
