Authenticity check

Just looking for any second opinions on If there is anything suspicious or in-authentic of this kanteisho and the translation of the smith.

Dear Taylor,

 

for an evaluation you should post accurate photos of the blade and the nakago, in any case the blade is signed and certified by NBTHK so I don't think there can be any doubts about its authenticity, the cases that the NBTHK is wrong are rare especially on a signed blade.

The paperwork looks legit from that shot, although it was issued only just over three months ago, so it’s as fresh as an early morning baguette!

Piers - let me double check please. So,
from the certificate above I can see that it was submitted in the April 2022 shinsa and the certificate itself was issued in December 2022 (14 Dec Reiwa 4). 
Am I looking at the wrong photo as I do not think it was issued 3 months ago?

The blade was submitted in the September 2022 shinsa.

"04" on the topleft means 4th of Reiwa.

My bad, I keeping thinking this is Reiwa 5… but I haven’t been out much this year officially. I went to the bank in March and on one form I wrote Reiwa 5…

Moriyama san, yes, thanks, but actually the year is already specified  as 2022 in the middle of the number (04202209)? Is this not a repetition? 

What you say makes sense and also it indeed takes around 3 months for certificate issuance (submit in September and get the paper in December 2022).

Even if that is a repetion, that is an NBTHK's matter, I think.

Sado-no-kami Kunitomi Motoyoshi

 

Kunitomi is the smith's working name. Sado-no-kami is his title.

to be honest once you get over 50 forgetting what year your in is pretty normal.
