stackinnutts Posted April 14, 2024 Report Posted April 14, 2024 Hi, I’ve ran across this blade and the owner said he believed a previous amateur owner buffed it; based upon these pics, do you think restoration is still possible? Quote
ChrisW Posted April 14, 2024 Report Posted April 14, 2024 This is a question that only a polisher could answer definitively. If you're able to make it, there is a sword show in Chicago during the last weekend of this month. There will be several known polishers there that could assist. Quote

ROKUJURO Posted April 14, 2024 Report Posted April 14, 2024 Jimmy, a lot depends on the condition of the surface. If ridges (= SHINOGI) and edges have not been rounded by removal of material, a polish would certainly be possible. Please show photos oriented correctly (tip/KISSAKI pointing vertically upwards) and use a dark basckground. Quote
