Translation of a shikomizue?

Can anyone help me with a transition of my shikomizue? Thank you in advance.

Oni,

the NAKAGO looks as if it had been painted at one time, and dirt/debris has settled in the paint, obscuring the signature. The first name KANJI might be KANE, but I cannot read the second KANJI.

[Onigoroshi]

I rubbed some chalk into the kanji to try and help the camera pick it up more clearly. The first picture is without the chalk.

Slightly uncertain about the second to last character, but perhaps:

 

武州神田住兼勝作 = Bushū Kanda-jū Kanekatsu saku

[Onigoroshi]

Does Bushū Kanda-jū mean "residing in Tokyo in Edo period"?

[Bugyotsuji]

It means residing in Kanda which is in Bushu (Musashi). 

 

The period is not mentioned, but yes, this indicates part of the Edo region, which all later came to be part of the newly-named Tokio or Tokyo.

 

We then assume from the style of writing that this was chiseled in the late Edo Period, or quite possibly the Meiji Period when shikomizue came into fashion.
