Dragon Statue

I was asked by the proprietor of a donut shop what is written on this plastic dragon.  It was given to her recently and is probably related to the recent Chinese new year, which is the year of the dragon 龙.  Hopefully Trystan can divine what the hidden meaning of the characters are.

聚宝盆 - jù bǎo pén - Treasure Pot

 

生意兴隆 - shēngyì xīnglóng  - "May your business prosper " or something along those lines.

The same shop also has this little solar-powered plastic monk.  Not sure what the purpose of tapping/drumming is, but am curious as to the meaning of the Chinese characters around the base.

出入平安 = peace wherever you go

一帆風顺 = smooth sailing

一路平安 = safe trip

阿彌陀佛 = Amitābha

 

The first three are standard idioms to say to someone who is embarking on a journey.

And, as it says in Jan's link above, Amitabha is rendered as Amida-Butsu in Japanese.
