Bronze of Fujiwara Yasumasa

Recommended Posts

Was very happy to acquire this late Meiji bronze of the Heian courtier Fujiwara Yasumasa playing his flute. The subject is taken directly from an older famous woodblock print (see link if interested in the legend). Nice quality casting that really captures his robes billowing in the wind. Bizarrely it’s unsigned but imo it’s Miyao ….too good for Gyokko.
