Translation of Kanji on tang

I was just taking a closer look at some of my swords and decided I would finally try to get some information regarding the information on the tang of one of them. Please see the attached photographs. I tried to make some headway myself, but the complexity of the problem is a bit daunting. I would appreciate any information anyone could provide. I'd also be interested in knowing what the kanji script in white paint says as well. Thank you for your assistance.

the date is probably 1943, the MEI is KANE...something (-TOSHI?  -TSUGU?).

Your pictures are lying on the side, so I had to break my neck to read the inscription.

To help us reading, please post pictures of the NAKAGO 
 

-  with tip (KISSAKI) pointing upwards

-- no hardware on the blade

-  taken directly from above

-  with light from the side

-  well focused

-  against a dark background to get a good contrast

-  preferably presented as cut-out so nothing is distracting from the item

(The NAKAGO - "with tip pointing upwards" means tip of the blade, not tip of the nakago, by the way!)

Sorry, the pictures were actually as you described when viewed on my phone and computer, but when I moved them to the site the app turned them sideways and I couldn't find any way to correct them. I'll have to investigate further before posting next time.

I have found that if you crop your photo, even just a little bit, then post it, it’s off the problem.

It looks like the painted assembly numbers are 819. Is this number stamped on any of the parts?

The first white painted character could be the katakana character NE ネ?

ネ八一九 = NE 819

I was thinking NU at first, but you are probably right with NE.

Hard to tell. I was thinking 子 or something along those lines, but if these numbers are generally preceded by katakana characters, then ネ is a possibility.

Thank you all for your time, knowledge and information you provided. Being a complete neophyte leaves my head spinning a bit when I see the depth and breadth of information there is about these swords.

I can not find the number 819 on any other part of the sword.
