I have miss placed  my note book with the full  translation for this Shin-Shinto sword .

 

I think i have the date correct ! and part of the Mei , I would appreciate if someone could confirm if correct and complete the translation please. 

 

Date - Meji - 1876 !   

 

Mei -Hitachi -  - - - - Masayuki

Meiji 3rd yr 2nd month a day?……a day in Feb 1870?

Seems to have a small “spare” kanji in the date?….but I’m no expert so don’t bet on it!

Colin ,Steve , many thanks for the reply , silly me added the date up wrong i added the day and month on the Meji date ! for some reason  

 

Colin i looked in Hawley's and could not see it , a trip to get my eyes tested soon is in order.
