Purchased a sword here in Hawaii, can anyone help with dating?

I bought two swords and a knife. I don't know much about them and neither did the seller. I have not done any cleaning on them but it looks like someone did at some point. I'm curious about the dates and sword smith. Signature is faint. Any help would be appreciated.

Suspect this reads Kanemoto.

I am also seeing Kanemoto 兼元, or possibly Kanemitsu 兼光. There also looks to be something above the Kane but I can't make out anything.

Thank you guys for the help. Any tips for how to take good care. I know I should use a lite oil, does mineral oil work. Also the scabbard, Saya seems to have termite damage.
