katanako Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 I did the attached article for the BANZAI newsletter. BANZAI is a group of Japanese WWII militaria collectors (guns, sword, uniforms, equipment, insignias, etc.) Every year, we go out to Wickenberg, AZ for a shoot-out and alot of guys bring their Japanese rifles, pistols, etc. and blast away. Anyway, I wrote this article for BANZAI, and since some of you are interested in Japanese sword tassels, I decided to present this to you for your perusal. I write tongue-in-cheek and I am definitely NOT an expert, but have done some research so I do know a little of what I write. KATANAKO Japanese ARMY SWORD TASSELS I - Copy (2) Banzai.doc Quote
Stephen Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 please sign off with your real name. Might change the doc to Pdf it wont open for me. Quote
Brian Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 Nice article Henry. Wish someone would do a similar one covering all the tassels. Hmm..the word .doc works fine for me. Asks if I want to save it or open it. I assume everyone has either Word or a similar prog to open them? Anyways, adding it as a .pdf here anyways. Thanks, and please do add a first name to your profile. Brian Japanese ARMY SWORD TASSELS I_ Banzai.pdf Quote
outlier48 Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 No problem opening the .doc file with Word 2007. Earlier versions of Word might not work. The pic is clear and the tassels look great. Charlie Brashear Quote
katanako Posted November 14, 2009 Author Report Posted November 14, 2009 Huh? Sign off with my real name instead of my Moniker KATANAKO? OK, if I submit another article, will do. I hope no one thinks that I am an expert...because I am NOT!!! I just wanted to share what little knowledge I have with you all. I hate reading boring articles, so I add a little humor. Thanks. Brian Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 Henry, Yep...I have alked everyone on the NMB to sign all posts with at least a first name, or even a first name and initial. This is in line with most serious forums and makes replying a lot easier. Easiest way is to just add this to your profile as a signature, then you don't have to add it every time. I am reminding everyone here of this, as lately we have a ton of new members that I have to ask, or edit their signatures myself. Thanks for adding yours. Yep...nice article. Please do consider us when you do any more. There seems a lack of good info on tassels online. Regards, Brian Quote
