After 30 years of enjoing it i sell one of my gems..

 

A magnificent Wakizashi in a high level polish, Shirasaya, Sayagaki and NTHK Kanteisho.

 

Doi-Shinryo is from Hizen Kuni Hirado domain, became a pupil
of Inoue-Shinkai.

Doi-Shinryo was trained by Inoue Shinkai for 2 years and after the
master’s death he go back to Hirado and flourished as employed
sword smith in Matsuura family.

 

The workmanship in this Wakizashi is close to his Master.

 

The Hamon is bright Gunome-midare with deep Nioikuchi that spills up to the Shinogi. The best Shinto Soshuden.

但し⽣無銘也時代元禄頃

師真改を彷彿さす傑作也

⻑さ壱尺六⼨壱分半有之

平成⼋年霜⽉吉⽇誌之

Tadashi ubu mumei nari jidai Genroku goro

Shi Shinkai o hōfutsu-sasu kessaku nari

Nagasa 1 shaku 6 sun 1 bu han kore ari

Heisei hachinen shimotsuki kichijitsu kore o shirusu

Yoshikawa Kōen + kaō

 

Doi Shinryō

[blade us] ubu and mumei and dated Genroku (1688-1704).

Masterpiece who show great similarity with Shinryōs master Shinkai.

Bladelänge ~ 48.9 cm

Written at a lucky day in November 1996

thank you for your expert opinion.

 

Yes this blade is realy a stunner.

 

Massive but elegand sugata. 7 mm Kasane.

 

The polish is high level.

 

And the workmanship........

 

The new owner will be satified!

I knew  the  sword. I do not  know  what  is more  exellent. The blade  or the  polish  Kentaro  Yoshikawa  Sensei. Who ever  will  purchase this,  he will b  the proud owner  of  one  of the  best pieces  of Doi.

i'm surprised you remember this blade
I think you last saw it 20 years ago.

Yes - quality remains in the brain :laughing: and the new owner will be happy about this piece.....
