Trying to get a copy of this book. Have tried their website and e-mailed a few times but no reply. Is Panchita Hawley still alive and in business? My brother called the listed phone number in the US but was told it was a private residence and not the Hawey residence. Can anyone help please.

Holy Cow! $950?! :shock: Heck, my copy is signed by Willis himself, it should be worth twice that then! ;)

 

Nevin, out of curiousity I made a quick call and what I was told is that these haven't been available from Hawley's Library for quite some time; about two years actually. It was an expensive book to produce with low volume of sales, which in the book business, is the kiss of death for any edition. Your best bet will be to find one on the secondary market. They come up on occassion.

they do have a few of the blue copys from the sixties, i like to think the rivised one (above) is the better one to have. I can say one thing the vol2 of the blues does list more of ww2 smiths and where they trained or worked.

 

id hold out for one under 300 for sure.
