Fake Type 19??

This does not look real to me, however I was unaware type 8/19s were faked.

They are not very common, but I have seen two or three.

I just realized I had 2 fake 19s on file:

I don't think the one on Goodwill is fake. It looks like a legit Chinese Nationalist Officer's sword. See below from Jan Culbertson's book, Chinese Swords: Vol. III:

Dang, good eye, Conway!  I didn't look closely enough at the backstrap 'ear' emblem.  It's a plum, isn't it.
