Please don't mind the mannequin. There where female Samurai too, LOL . Acquired a suit of armor and hoping to get more information on the parts.  The is a 32 plate Suji-Bachi, correct?? It is unsigned. Can anyone give any info on maker? It came as is. I did not write on the inside Ukebari. Should I remove and fit new one? Also, there are microcracks in the black lacquer. Is there anything to help this from getting worst.

Thanks.

Anthony R.

Hello Anthony,

you have an edo kabuto here, made in the style of East Japan, Tohoku.

this because the flat top, and de curved plates.

the lacquer, mabezashi and tsunamoto however, point in the direction of west Japan, Yamato.

this is probably a east and west fusion kabuto, as we find often during the edo period.
