Hi,

up for sale is this set of swords. The swords came to me quite a few years ago and it’s now time for them to find a new home.

After doing quite a bit of research on the Kai gunto I believe this was either used by a Japanese paratrooper or a special naval landing forces officer in World War II. The backstrap that’s been added to the sheath is quite rare, you can see it being used in period photos. The Sword itself is in very good condition.
The carry back strap is just so unique ! That’s what attracted me to it.

The second sword seems to be a beautifully made sword that has been cut down in the field for use, either by a Japanese tanker, or someone that needed a short sword. The blade and the actual handle and the fittings on this thing are exquisite. I wasn’t able to get the handle off, but I’m pretty sure this would be a very old family blade.

both of these came together, so I’m selling them together.

$3000 For both or trade for a nice Japanese helmet. Preferably one with a cover that’s very salty and heavily used.

The swords can be posted worldwide

If interested, please contact me

Thanks for looking
