katonk66 Posted February 11, 2024 Report Posted February 11, 2024 Sorry for the extremely substandard photos, but this is the best the seller in Japan can provide. I'd like some rough guesses/opinions on this item. It seems fishy...especially the koshirae. Thank you. Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted February 11, 2024 Report Posted February 11, 2024 Authentic but of abysmal quality. If it's from ebay, the seller is relisting items from yahoo Japan auctions at an inflated price and does not own the item. In other words, run away. Quote

ROKUJURO Posted February 11, 2024 Report Posted February 11, 2024 The SAME on the TSUKA is certainly 'fishy'. (Sorry, could not resist). The TSUKA-ITO is not well made, and the TSUBA does not look desirable. With the rest of the photos it is difficult to judge the quality of the whole, but it looks to be an authentic Japanese sword. You did not mention the price, so a lot depends on that. And in case John found the pictures elsewhere, great care is indeed advised - the internet is a Piranha pond (sharks live in the open sea). katonk66 Posted February 11, 2024 Author Report Posted February 11, 2024 About 950 USD. But still not worth it. Quote
Rivkin Posted February 11, 2024 Report Posted February 11, 2024 .... and the forum turned into 10 messages a day asking - hey, I have this 50$ sword I want to buy, tell me about it. Not gonna provide the link though, cause don't wanna you scooping my treasure. 100x100 pixels pics will suffice. 1 Quote
