Let this slip slide away, kinda wish I kept up with the back and forth now.

Around 3" just dig it but let go feeling I'd get into a ego oh no you don't bidding war.

Any thoughts?

Hi Stephen,

That's cool. You certainly have an eye for these. Someone could quickly scroll past this one and not appreciate the subtleties.

Good call on not bidding too, if you are starting to feel that way. Sometimes it is meant to be and other times, not.

But, Hey, you got that one copper tsuba not too long ago that was a stunner! Bring that out and study for a while (Yahoo Japan I think???). :)

Jingasa are the ones worn by samurai, the word 'jin' suggesting a war 'camp' during a campaign. Woven hats of any type with no particular military connection can be called ajiro-gasa. The common word is 'kasa' which is a head protector, and confusingly can mean umbrella or broad hat.

With the two hanging rings, though, for strapping, these really have to be ajirogasa.
