Bruce Pennington Posted January 30, 2024 Author Report Posted January 30, 2024 Thanks guys, I never would have come up with that on my own. Any chance this top kanji has something to do with rank, either military or civil structure? Quote
ROKUJURO Posted January 30, 2024 Report Posted January 30, 2024 This is not a KANJI but a drawing of the traditional house where he lived.... 1 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted January 30, 2024 Author Report Posted January 30, 2024 That would be interesting! I contacted the seller, and here is the full image. Quote
Geraint Posted January 30, 2024 Report Posted January 30, 2024 Dear Bruce. I realise that your interest in the sword is probably from the military point of view but can I just say that the Hamabe school from Inaba produced some very nice blades. Plenty of detail on the link that Jean posted. I've had an interest in the swords of Inaba for a while and have yet to find a Hamabe blade that I didn't like. Obviously condition is a key issue but if you get the chance then go for it! All the best. 1 Quote

Stephen Posted January 30, 2024 Report Posted January 30, 2024 Well then it might be nice to see the blade. I know your just doing it to collect info but the sword enthusiast in us care about seeing his work. Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted January 31, 2024 Author Report Posted January 31, 2024 Matt beat me to it. Lousy condition, but you can see hints of interesting hamon when you zoom in. Here's the link to the sale: Fare sales on ebay 1 Quote
