It's a Type 95 NCO gunto!

 

Lot 1295: 14TH C. Japanese KATANA SWORD BLADE IN WWII METAL SCABBARD: Description same as title

 

It's a Sep 1944 Gifu/Seki stamped showato in RS fittings.

Maybe those swords have self-identified as ancient, traditionally made blades!!!

They should just describe them both as swords. Then it would be accurate.
