Asked for info and pics. The Tsuba birth about 1620 is a miracle, Toshikanes`birth year is 1625..

Not Yagyu I think and not 1620...

I agree with Thomas.

These are both papered Yagyū and the wave carving is much more subtle, 'fluid' and less stylised IMO.

How thick are those? They feel "powerful".

They are not mine, I just found them online to illustrate the wave carvings. However, most of the Yagyū tsuba I've held in hand have been thick (I'd guess around 6-7 mm) and square edged.

The first one was mine long ago, before papered and sold it.

I believe the second one belongs to a forum member, but I think he is busy & relatively off-line for the next few months.

@BIG Seeing any key details about the texture of iron of the plate and the rim of the tsuba in the photos provided is exceedingly difficult for me. I might have a display issue on my computer, or I might have clicked on something incorrectly as the language of the website is German. The examples provided by @Simon R are some exceptional reference examples. The bottom Yagyu tsuba I think was sold between local collector friends and later to Gery Doffin a while ago.
