BIG Posted January 11, 2024 Author Report Posted January 11, 2024 First time I saw this special design, may be first periode.. Quote
BIG Posted January 11, 2024 Author Report Posted January 11, 2024 Asked for info and pics. The Tsuba birth about 1620 is a miracle, Toshikanes`birth year is 1625.. Quote
Winchester Posted January 11, 2024 Report Posted January 11, 2024 Mr. BIG, Hope all is well. Do you have a link for the original 36 designs for the yagyu? Thank you in advance. Best regards, Brian Quote
BIG Posted January 11, 2024 Author Report Posted January 11, 2024 No Brian, do you saw the design anywhere, I love it. Quote
Winchester Posted January 11, 2024 Report Posted January 11, 2024 I have not seen the design, previously. However, I am a new (3 years) collector and I am not an expert. Quote

Expand They are not mine, I just found them online to illustrate the wave carvings. However, most of the Yagyū tsuba I've held in hand have been thick (I'd guess around 6-7 mm) and square edged. I believe the second one belongs to a forum member, but I think he is busy & relatively off-line for the next few months. 2 Quote

I might have a display issue on my computer, or I might have clicked on something incorrectly as the language of the website is German. The examples provided by @Simon R are some exceptional reference examples. The bottom Yagyu tsuba I think was sold between local collector friends and later to Gery Doffin a while ago.
