montrealfan1986 Posted January 5, 2024 Report Posted January 5, 2024 The type 95 I ordered last week has arrived. You all were right on when you said to check out the caliber / level of quality in which is was made. The details are incredible. Even for a machine made sword, I am beyond impressed. Thank you so much for the advice and steering me in the right direction. Im looking forward to the militaria show this weekend in Charleston, will let y'all know if I find any nihonto related items. Best, Matthew 3 1 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted January 5, 2024 Report Posted January 5, 2024 Thanks for posting a photo of them side-by-side! Pretty impressive the differences when seen together. You don’t get any real concept of size and dimensions when someone is posting photos of a fake by itself. 2 1 Quote
vajo Posted January 5, 2024 Report Posted January 5, 2024 Thats a cool picture to compare fake replica and real ones. 1 1 Quote

John C Posted January 5, 2024 Report Posted January 5, 2024 Matt: Would you be able to measure both the length and width of each tsuka (handle)? I think the comparison would be useful for future reference on the fake type 95 thread. John C. Quote

I'll have one or two in my hands as I walk through. I'll definitely have an 1886 Navy Kyugunto parade saber with same' skin saya, a Navy tanto, and Navy belt. Will probably have a few other items out in the truck, if something prompts me to bring them in. Quote

If that can help someone avoid a fake, I will be glad to help out 1 Quote
