Lordd_Humungous Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 I have a sword that's missing the ring on the scabbards hanger. It's a replica, the maker said they just couldn't get the ring on then forgot to send it along with the sword. So I was wondering if there's any precedent for this, like if anyone has an idea on how to add a ring. The reproduction rings have a cut through them, but they don't seem easy to pry open then force "closed" again. Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted December 21, 2023 Report Posted December 21, 2023 There are guys that do their own restorations that might be able to help you. In the meantime, you might consider buying the whole ashi/haikan as a replacement. Or buying one to scavenge the ring off of. You'd still run into the same problem, though, having to cut the ring and re-attach. Is it civil or military? PNSSHOGUN Posted December 21, 2023 Report Posted December 21, 2023 It would be wrong to modify an original item for a replica sword. Quote
