Katana mounted for officer in WW2

Has anyone an idea why this blade has  Man, Roku on the tang? No other characters and the 2 peg holes show it’s adaption for military use.

A beautiful hefty blade with wonderful visible patterns in the metal.

When you post pictures of a NAKAGO, it is recommended to show them oriented tip-upwards so we can read the inscriptions without breaking the neck.

HADA is not visible in these photos.

Looks like a chinese replica.

Is that because of the polish Chris?

Did you read the 2012 post.

The link to polisher is not working, lets home he's not anymore

Stephen maybe the pictures shows not what is seeing when you have it in hand but this blade looks oil hardned on that 3 pictures and the kanji looks like hammerd by a none Japanese smith. The nakago patination is a bit artificial.

Without better bigger pictures can't change my mind. They are to small for me.

Maybe I'm total wrong and then it would be not fair to the sword.
