Ron M Posted December 3, 2023 Report Posted December 3, 2023 Greeting to you all, I am looking for your opinions on these two tsuba I have. Some have seen these. Thank you Measurements for #1: 67x63mm, very thick, dark color Measurements for #2: 65x60mm, thin, chocolate color 1 Quote
ROKUJURO Posted December 3, 2023 Report Posted December 3, 2023 Ron, the first TSUBA reminds me of TACHIBANA TSUBA, the second is difficult, as it could be KO-NARA or a later attempt to replicate this style. It is also possible that an old TSUBA plate was later embellished wird some decoration. 1 Quote
Spartancrest Posted December 4, 2023 Report Posted December 4, 2023 I love the Nawame edge on that first guard, I have a couple like that but different schools - one being Shoami Kanenori I was wondering if it might be Myochin? Quote
Spartancrest Posted December 5, 2023 Report Posted December 5, 2023 I can't help thinking this guard shares some features to the second tsuba - some sukashi, the cut lines [yasuri] and the inlay with a similar rounded square shape. From page 110 Tsuba Kanshoki by Torigoe Kazutaro Shonaishoami? 1 Quote
