Aethel_berht Posted November 27, 2023 Report Posted November 27, 2023 Hello! I am looking for a qualified Togishi, I have some names in mind and would like some opinions. I have heard great things about Jimmy Hayashi, and from another forum I heard about a Togishi named Christopher Osborne? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Quote
rematron Posted November 27, 2023 Report Posted November 27, 2023 Hi Adam. I'm sure some people will pipe in, but I'd recommend searching this sight for "togishi" or "best togishi" or "good togishi" in the meantime. It's all been said before. A lot. Quote
Stephen Posted November 27, 2023 Report Posted November 27, 2023 Depends on what you want polished and if really needs one. Many state side polishers should not go past showa to...JH not in that list. Quote
Stephen Posted November 27, 2023 Report Posted November 27, 2023 This sword? I'd say save your money, weekly uchiko sessions will do wonders Listen to Grey's advice. Quote
Rivkin Posted November 27, 2023 Report Posted November 27, 2023 Most people polish their blades not because it makes slightest sense but because they want to be part of the process. 2 2 Quote

Of course it would depend on whether the blade was worth his time. 6 Quote
lonely panet Posted November 30, 2023 Report Posted November 30, 2023 Andrew doesn't polish any old sword. And i can't speak on his behalf but hes has decline jobs on condition of blades. Remember he gets paid the same to polish masterpieces compared ordinary unknown smith.. 1 Quote
