Hello! I am looking for a qualified Togishi, I have some names in mind and would like some opinions. I have heard great things about Jimmy Hayashi, and from another forum I heard about a Togishi named Christopher Osborne? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Adam.  I'm sure some people will pipe in, but I'd recommend searching this sight for "togishi" or "best togishi" or "good togishi" in the meantime.  It's all been said before.  A lot.

If by qualified you mean someone who has completed a full apprenticeship in Japan and is duely recognised there as such then I'd not hesitate to recommend Andrew Ickeringill, based in Australia. Of course it would depend on whether the blade was worth his time.

Andrew doesn't polish any old sword. And i can't speak on his behalf but hes has decline jobs on condition of blades.

Remember he gets paid the same to polish masterpieces compared  ordinary unknown smith..
