PNSSHOGUN Posted November 15, 2023 Report Posted November 15, 2023 Total fake, not even close enough for display so worthless. Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted November 15, 2023 Report Posted November 15, 2023 There are no known WWII Japanese tassels with that color mix. Fading can do some tricks with the old colors, but the real ones are uniform on each side. For example a brown/blue can fade to brown/purple or brown/almost brown, but the colors stay on their respective sides. There is no mixed colors like this one. And green has never been one of the colors used. Quote
Stephen Posted November 15, 2023 Report Posted November 15, 2023 Colors aside the knots are ugly bad Quote
Paul G Posted November 15, 2023 Report Posted November 15, 2023 Agreed, bad tassel. Aside from the wrong colors, the knots on the tassel heads are non-existent really, just a bunch of cord looped over and tied. On real examples, there would be a braided knot at the top of each tassel. As well, the cords on the end of the tassel are just cut off cord. Real examples have a little loop on each end which is barely noticeable, unless you are looking for it. In addition to all that, there is no slider for it, its just tied into a knot. PG- Quote
Ontario_Archaeology Posted November 15, 2023 Report Posted November 15, 2023 bad fake tassel, closest thing it could resemble is the "general/ admiral" rank navy tassel. Although I only think there are one or two kicking around that are known of. 2 Quote

Claimed he had acquired a (shoe box) full. I foolishly bought one and yes, they are indeed extremely fake... Dave M. 2 Quote
