Shakudo , Shibuichi

Takahashi Okitsugu broughtThe Mokume Gane  techniques to their higest levels.

True,  but I wonder how the auction piece would look "in hand" - a little worn and a few scratches but not too bad for the price range - where will you find another? :)

It’s actually quite a generous slice, Dale, about 7 cm overall across from memory.

Sorry Jesse I was over estimating on that Mokume - it sold for $72.51 USD. You would have got the shipping as well for $100! :)

I think it was James Binion? who was making mokumegane jewelry, and he noticed that silver-copper mokumegane jewelry would lead to the silver being oxidized away, because of the humidity of the skin, leaving only part of the ring.
