Patinamax Posted November 2, 2023 Report Posted November 2, 2023 My store received this sword from a friend who believed it to be a less expensive one - and parts of it do look cheaper, but I am unable to translate it. Any help or translation would be appreciated, and I can share more pictures as well, mostly trying to get an idea of what I have at the moment, as I am still a novice. Thank you! Quote

DTM72 Posted November 3, 2023 Report Posted November 3, 2023 @Patinamax the characters also appear to be upside down. If it is Japanese kanji, they would be read as the tip is towards the sky and the end of the nakago (tang) is towards the floor. As the sword is held in theis position, the kanji is on the left side of the nakago for katana, wakizashi, and tanto. and on the right side for tachi. (<-there are some exceptions to this but this is normally how it is) All the best, Quote
