This auction caught my eye and sparked some memories of similar themed guards and tosogu.  https://www.jauce.com/auction/1112235337  or  https://buyee.jp/ite...o/auction/1112235337 The condition of the guard is not great.

It also harks back to this old thread about when museums get their descriptions wrong. The kozuka example is from the Smithsonian [formerly the Cooper-Hewitt collection Accession Number 1936-4-1124]
