Per Sesko:

KIHŌ (奇峯), Tenna (天和, 1681-1684), Settsu – “Inoue Kihō” (井上奇峯), “Inoue Yoshitada” (井上良忠), real name Inoue Dan´emon (井上団右衛門), son of Inoue Shinkai (井上真改), he signed first with Yoshitada (良忠) and later, after entering priesthood, with his nyūdō-gō Kihō (奇峯), there exists a blade with the date signature of the third year of Tenna (1683) in combination with the mei “Inoue Kihō,” that means at the latest at this point of time he was active under his nyūdō-gō, he also carved a chrysanthemum on the ura side of his tangs, after the death of his father he succeeded officially as 2nd gen. Shinkai, because Inoue Shinkai died in Tenna two (1682) we can either assume that he did not immediately start with sign with “Shinkai” or that he used his nyūdō-gō Kihō and the name Shinkai side by side, later in his career he moved to Hyūga province, elongated chū-kissaki, ko-itame with nagare and ji-nie, chū-suguha mixed with slightly undulating notare in ko-nie-deki and with a wide nioiguchi, the bōshi is suge with a ko-maru-kaeri, jō-saku (as Yoshitada)

Hi Ian, can we get a look at the sword? It should be a very nice sword. I've never seen an Inoue Kihō sword.

Hi Steve

Unfortunately I don’t have the sword, a friend has asked if I could translate it for him, I will ask for some pictures..

many thanks

Ian
