They are getting stuff right.  Too bad.  The beginning of the bohi is right, but not the end.  The stamps have improved, but still not right.  Like the previous one we discussed, the dimples in the tsuka diamonds are poorly defined and non-existent in the half-diamond near the fuchi.  They got the curve of the latch right, where most fakes don't.  The joint of the saya throat piece and the saya seems to have been painted over as if welded together.

Hi Jared and welcome to the "Military Swords" subforum.  These have been around for awhile and initially fooled me too.  However, it is a reproduction as stated above.  The giveaway for me is the inspection mark on the ferrule.  Keep the faith and keep looking for the real McCoy.

On behalf of the Dutch Token society, I was asked to look at a similar sword just yesterday. (A spitting image ofvthis one but with a slightly higher serial number).

It’s a decent replica, one of the better I have seen, but a replica nonetheless. The coincidence of seeing one here today strikes me as funny.
