Seiko Posted October 9, 2023 Report Posted October 9, 2023 Hello everyone ! Just wanted to share with you a project we are working on from Japan. A 80cm blade Tachi with a Koshirae for one of our customer who wants to practice tameshigiri. The customer gave us a lot of freedom on the details and style so it will be very satisfying to make realise this project. The Tachi will have a long leather handle, silver heavy tsuba and silver fittings. Can't wait to share with you guys more on this sword and show you pictures when the sword is finished ! We're also currently working on an even more crazy project that might have never been done before, let me know if you're interested to see. 6 1 Quote

Baba Yaga Posted October 10, 2023 Report Posted October 10, 2023 Crazy projects? I see a Square Ruler. Get a white board and and apply some Golden Ratio Geometry before heating and pounding. Arm length, cutting position, weight, length, ect. Quote

Maybe Rokujuro saying the person must be a giant man was maybe meaning like strong or muscular, not necessarily how tall he is. Then again, it takes a tall person with long arms to draw an 80 cm katana or tachi while mounted on the hip. 1 Quote

DoTanuki yokai Posted October 13, 2023 Report Posted October 13, 2023 I’m looking forward to see more of your project! Can you tell us who are the craftsman that you work with ? I think beeing over 1,80m is not that common in Japan as it is in the US or Europe. Quote
Seiko Posted October 13, 2023 Author Report Posted October 13, 2023 The customer is French. And we work with Kuromoto for this sword Quote
