Nobody Posted October 6, 2023 Report Posted October 6, 2023 According to the description on the linked page, the shirasaya was made of wood, and wrapped with a sheet of carbon fiber pattern. 2 Quote
DTM72 Posted October 6, 2023 Report Posted October 6, 2023 I like it. I would prefer it to be the traditional wood core, wrapped in TRUE carbon fiber. Once the carbon fiber and resin are laid upon the wood core, it cures for 16 hours at 150F degrees or as little as 15 minutes at 250F. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted October 6, 2023 Report Posted October 6, 2023 It makes no sense as the moisture exchange which is only possible with wood is impeded. Just fancy and trying to be "modern", but not better than the traditional HINOKI. 5 Quote
Baba Yaga Posted October 6, 2023 Report Posted October 6, 2023 Many Moons ago I ran into this collector who was a automotive paint and body owner out of New Mexico. Did some great work. Quote
