Geraint Posted October 2, 2023 Report Posted October 2, 2023 Dear Charles. I don't think this picture format is much use to us, can you change the format and try again? All the best. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted October 2, 2023 Report Posted October 2, 2023 Charles, I am afraid this is not Japanese. Probably very recently made. No value, except for gardening.... Quote
Mario Tod Posted October 20, 2023 Report Posted October 20, 2023 I’d say it’s a Japanese 1940s era mass produced gunto https://www.Japanese...dex.com/military.htm very possibly made for naval use as it looks like it’s stainless steel. fun! Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted October 20, 2023 Report Posted October 20, 2023 This is not the Tenshozan mei The large number stamped on the habaki is a classic sign of Chinese fakes. Note the 2 haikan (ashi), so it's trying to be a Type 94, but also note the thin tsuba and offset chuso - not Type 94 fittings. Pourly desined fuchi and menugi. All standard for Chinese fakes. 1 Quote
