The Blacksmith Posted September 24, 2023 Report Posted September 24, 2023 A favourite of mine was a piece of old carpet, twirl the tsuba round and round, and then wax afterwards. Quote

ROKUJURO Posted September 24, 2023 Report Posted September 24, 2023 Karatekutya, please give us your first name plus an initial so we can politely address you! There is no standard recipe which would be applicable for each and every rustred TSUBA. To give you a helpful advice, it would be necessary to see - at least - photos of it. If there is gold decoration involved, all drastic methods should be dismissed. First step is to know how the TSUBA was intended to look by its maker. Also, sometimes a TSUBA is damaged beyond repair, or perhaps you have a diamond in the rough? So before you start any cleaning, show it here first, and let us help you to carefully save it if possible. 3 1 Quote
