I saw this sword and would not normally pay this much but was intrigued by its story My concerns are is it what it’s claimed to be and is price reasonable? So let me see what others think about it

Steve:

I can't make any judgement on authenticity, however I think 5 grand is a bit much for a showato - even one in mint condition. But if you are a Kanemichi collector, then a mint example would be the pinnacle of your collection.

John Did you say there were swords for sale?

I have been looking so dam long for a nice Navy dbl hanger traditional sword with signature

Has to be in excellent condition without nicks or other issues

Preferably Older but not necessary

I looked in the auction site but no luck so excuse me for asking on this one

Thanks Bruce the 2nd choice pitted on tip

the other Showa blocked me but would probably have bought it

I bought several nice swords from him but had a bug up his ass because I questioned a repaired  scabbard I canceled

His loss

So you don’t think it’s traditional made?

Could be traditionally made because I don't see any seki or showa stamps. But I also don't see a star stamp or defined nioi on the hamon. If I had to flip a coin on a sword dated 1943, I would lean toward showato. Remember too that many RJT smiths also made showato - but did them very well.
