Can't tell much more from the two pictures that shows the tanto. It doesn't appear to be in horrible polish, but it does not look like a great polish either. Dan Quote

I also think that Koshirae is quiet new, although the fittings can be from EDO period (quiet often practice as fittings don't age that quickly as Tsuka-ito for example).
