I'm interested in commissioning a Tosogu set.

I've found someone at Tagane Arts .. although he is re-doing the website and I can't find his name

He learned from Ford Hallum but Ford doesn't have any sword parts on his site

Has anyone done business with these guys? Any other recommendations?

Thank You

Patrick Hastings is the guy who owns Tagane Arts. A finer fellow you will not find.

He's a member and moderator at Ford's site which Brian linked to, so should be contactable there.

I had the opportunity to meet Patrick and get a good close look - loupe close - at his work 3 or 4 years ago at the SF Token Kai. His work impressed me, and quite a few collectors who I consider more experienced and knowledgeable than myself. I can only assume it has improved in the interim, as he seemed to be dedicated to his craft.

As has been said, I also found him to be a person of character and integrity.

I've known Patrick personally for quite a few years now. He's a top notch guy, an excellent craftsman, and a good friend. He constantly strives for better and better work. I recommend him highly. Here's a set of fuchi kashira he made for me, and a tsuba he made a couple years ago.
