Martin Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 Hi all, could maybe anybody help me with this description of a Mon? "...the lozenge-shaped hachiman-bishi-mon." I have not been able to find any information about a Hachiman Bishi mon on the Internet. Or is it maybe a typo and should read Hana Bishi Mon... :? Here is a picture of the piece. Quote
Lorenzo Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 This page: http://www.yoroduya.co.jp/kamon/ Shows lot of Kamon... even the mitsubishi This is the hanabishi page: http://www.yoroduya.co.jp/kamon_index/ha/hanabishi.html While this is the hishi page: http://www.yoroduya.co.jp/kamon_index/ha/hishi.html Yours looks a bit different than the hanabishi to me... but there can be some sub-family variation maybe... Sorry, not big help, but the page is useful in my view; it is not complete but it is quite a big free archive. Quote
David Price Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 It looks like it could be a representation/variation of number 50 on the Hanabishi page? Dave P Quote
Martin Posted September 26, 2009 Author Report Posted September 26, 2009 Many thanks Lorenzo and Dave. In the meanwhile I am convinced that this is a modification of the Hanabishi Mon. Cheers, Quote
