The more I look at prices paid by the elites at auctions such as Christies...the more I suspect these are just giant venues for money laundering and tax evasion.
You just have to look at some of the prices fetched vs the estimates, and what we see stuff go for off these auctions to just shake your head and wish you had disposable money like some of these buyers.

These major auctioneers are absolute masters at hyping up fairly ordinary things and employ very skilled people who are almost “personal shoppers to the mega rich”. You can just hear it……”yes of course this would fit beautifully into your wonderful collection”. Tell that to the 10 richest potential customers and then sit back and watch the bun fight.

…..great if you are the vendor though….except when you notice the 25+% vendors commission and the 30+-% buyers premium that disappears off your final cheque.
