Last year Woody Hall gave a polishing demonstration at the Vegas Show.  When he finally got down into that position, first word that popped into my head was… “Nope!”

You have to understand the ergonomics of those times. There was none. If a procress wasn't painfull, it wasn't worth doing. 

When I look at older smiths work an mei, this is a thought. Who was really doing the work?
