Owned this one a while ago. “School of” Konkan. Condition was a bit rough but quite nice metalwork. I’m guessing a hunter out for geese under the moon?

The one I wanted for years.

In a museum, right, Ed?

No, I think it may have been one I bought from the Met, but I can't remember for certain. It stayed in my collection for a long time, then I released it into the wild.

Can I ask a question?  How do we tell the Moon from the Sun in these images? Is the Moon in silver, Sun in gold or is there something else we should be looking for? Obvious if the Moon is a crescent - you will never see the Sun that way of course. One other thing why do we see Geese flying at night, do they have radar? We do see geese and other large birds flying in daylight so presumably they can fly in front of the Sun just as much as the Moon.

Just thinking out loud. :dunno:
